It's lovely having crafty chums that you can share things with - and I'm delighted that after showing my website and blog to my chum Tamsin that she has now created her own!

Tamsin loves making jewellery and fabric crafts. She is also much more disciplined than me when it comes to digitally scrapping her project 365 - but that's another story . . .

I'm still decorating by the way - but there is light at the end of the tunnel and I just have some furniture to 'chalk paint and distress' then I'm there!

Making space to create

So here we are in 2012 already. I'm not sure what happened to 2011 as it passed by so quickly. Like most people I have set myself a ridiculous list of 'resolutions' that I know that I won't keep - but one that I am looking to embrace this year is about being more organised for arting and crafting.

Given the small space that I work in, I have to make every inch count - but as anyone who has a love for all things 'mixed media' will know, you pick up and hoard all manner of materials and treasures and these all need a home. If I'm honest, I have far to much stuff so a great clearing out and decorating exercise has begun to give me a better creative space in my kitchen.

In order to get some of the the things out of my kitchen, I have had to start with decorating my front room and losing some furniture here. I started this with a blaze of enthusiasm on the 2 January, and apart from a bit of down time this week due to a cold, am making good progress.

I now have nice clean white walls that have added a lot of light and they are a blank canvas crying out for some new art work - so I'd better get a wiggle on with the paint roller so I can get back to my more favoured paper, scissors and glue.
