I am a Buckinghamshire based evening and weekend artist working from my studio (aka the kitchen table) in the pretty riverside town of Marlow.

I began to explore mixed media techniques and collage in 2006 and haven't looked back.  My current working style developed as a way to incorporate a love of photography, traditional watercolour techniques and an ever-growing stash of paper craft and art products.

I am forever looking out for things that I can repurpose in my art and often have bits of fishing net, flotsam, feathers or random ephemera that I have picked up in my pockets.  What you think you see in my work at first glance may not be what it actually is when you get close up . . .

I start by 'deconstructing' a scene down to its component parts and shapes - sky, water, background elements and the foreground focus.  I then 'reconstruct' these 'parts' back together using printed papers, vintage maps, watercolour and altered photographic elements from my photo library to make a new composition.

That boat may not have been on that bit of the beach and those people may not have been standing on that bit of the riverbank - in fact, the heads of the people are family and friends!  The artwork is them embellished with other media, ephemera and a bit of sparkle to give a truly unique dimensional finish.

I love nothing better than playing with paper, scissors and glue and I hope the passion that I have for this comes across in my work.
